REACh stands for the new European chemical legislation which came into effect on 1 June 2007. Therefore responsibility of manufactures and importers of chemical substances sold in Europe has been increased. Users need to take responsibility for safe handling of chemical substances.

In order to enjoy  transitional phases for existing chemical substances, manufactures and importers need to pre-register before 1 December 2008. If this deadline missed, production as well as import of non-registered substances will be illegal already after 1 June 2008.
